5.9-magnitude earthquake strikes southern Taiwan

(CNN) -- A 5.9-magnitude earthquake struck southern Taiwan on Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The quake's epicenter was located 35 miles east of Kaohsiung and had a depth of 2.9 miles, according to USGS.

There were no immediate reports of injuries.
